FRUIT

All application equipment applying plant protection products must be tested.

In addition to the minimum requirements laid out in the Sustainable Use Directive (SUD), crop and supermarket assurance scheme protocols may require more frequent testing.

Growers in the Red Tractor Fresh Produce Assurance Scheme are required to have sprayers used for crop applications tested annually. Scottish Quality Crops (SQC) require sprayers to have their first test when the machine is 12 months old, then annually thereafter. Please check scheme protocols for clarification.
